Today, I noted on Nextdoor some discussion about an email a Clyde Hill resident sent to each candidate. The resident (Brad) asked some pretty good questions, and I responded with detailed answers. It was a simple request to gather information from each candidate; in fact I have responded to many such emails over the last week. And anyone can forward my emails / information to anyone they want – I don’t have secrets and in fact it is good to share the information. In any event, Brad forwards the responses he received to a group of his friends – each statement from the candidate was attached via a PDF file. And, the document I provided to Brad matches the one he sent out – so all is good.
However, in the Nextdoor post, there is a Clyde Hill resident that states they received an email from Ashley Eckel, and Eckel is stating that “…that a resident-blog yesterday posted outright lies/inaccuracies/heavily edited emails. It was completely predictable. Unfortunately, those behind it edited and deleted the parts where I actually discussed important topics (like storm water, our budget, and city code)…”
If I am reading that correctly, that is a very big assertion. Thankfully, someone asked Ashley via NextDoor post to produce the evidence of her assertion. But the response thus far is to “call Ashley” – in my experience receipts that back up assertions are important. Like I said, maybe I’m not reading something right here, but I’m super confident Brad handled the other responses just like mine (with absolute integrity). Hopefully the link below works, as it contains my detailed responses to the Brad questions.
